Geraldine Flick Obituary

JOHNSON CITY - Geraldine (Jerri) Gibbons Flick, age 85, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023, in Johnson City, Tennessee. Jerri had lived the past six and a half years at Brookdale Senior Living with her beloved dog, Hattie.

A native of Hawkins County, Jerri was a member of First Baptist Church of Church Hill and was a graduate of Church Hill High School. She was a loving and devoted wife of 51 years to her late husband, Aubrey Flick. During their marriage their work careers took them to North and South Carolina, New York City, Cincinnati, and Bradenton, Florida. Following retirement in 2007, Jerri and Aubrey returned to Kingsport and then later moved to Johnson City.

Jerri was loved by everyone she met because of her compassionate nature and fun-loving spirit. She especially loved tennis, golf, and a game of bridge. Over the years her many dachshunds held a special place in her heart. She also showered love and affection on her nieces and nephews and their families.

In addition to her husband, Jerri was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruby Gibbons, infant brother, Terry Gibbons, sister, Carolyn Gibbons, and niece Crystal Hunt Cox.

Survivors include a brother, Ed Gibbons and wife, Theresa, Johnson City, Tennessee, and a sister, Betty Jo Hunt and husband, Charles, Kingsport, Tennessee. She is also survived by two nieces, Mitzi Gibbons Smith and husband, Cliff, Franklin, Tennessee and Alison Christian Waskiewicz and husband, Joe, Church Hill, Tennessee; and two nephews, Mark Hunt and wife, Brooke, Kingsport, Tennessee, and Josh Gibbons and wife, Lisa, Johnson City, Tennessee, along with several cousins and great-nieces and nephews.

A special thank you is extended to the staff of Brookdale Senior Living of Johnson City and to Judy Jeffers for her exceptional kindness and care.

A Graveside Service for family and friends will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Oak Hill Memorial Park, 800 Truxton Drive, Kingsport, Tennessee. Everyone planning to attend should meet at the cemetery by 9:50 a.m.
