Mrs. Geraldine "Geri" Lockner Ewing July 29, 1936 - August 30, 2024
JOHNSON CITY - Mrs. Geraldine "Geri" Lockner Ewing, 88, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, August 30, 2024.
Geri was born into the loving home of Elbert Blaine Lockner and Mary Story Lockner on July 29, 1936, in Erwin, Tennessee.
After her high school graduation, Geri worked as an agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where she would meet the love of her life, William "Bill" Ellis Ewing, who was also an agent of the F.B.I. Geri worked for the Bureau for ten years before moving with her husband to Tennessee. She worked and retired as a bank teller for Hamilton and Suntrust Banks, after many years of service.
Through the years, Bill and Geri were almost inseparable. When you saw one of them, the other would be close by. They were able to travel together to see many places all over the world. They shared a love and a lifetime together while creating many unforgettable memories along the way.
Those remaining to cherish her memory include: her loving husband of almost 62 years, Bill Ewing; her brother, Elbert "Gene" Lockner; nephews, Gerald Williams (wife Hachita) and Kevin Williams (wife Vicky); great- nieces, Allison Bennett and Kennedie Renfro; great- nephews, Jonathan Williams, Alex Renfro, and Samuel Williams; and great- great- nieces, Ava Bennett and Emma Bennett.
A visitation for family and friends is scheduled from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home, in the Dogwood Chapel. A funeral service for Geraldine will begin immediately after the visitation at 7:00 pm.
A committal service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 9, 2024, at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:50 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
