Gary Allen Hobbs, Jr. December 23, 1975 - September 1, 2024
JOHNSON CITY - Gary Allen Hobbs, 48, Johnson City passed away unexpectedly Sunday, September 1, 2024 in the Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and was a son of Barbara Ann Friday and the late Gary Allen Hobbs Sr. Gary was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed watching football, basketball and he loved to swim when he was younger. Gary was an avid NASCAR fan.
Survivors include his mother, Barbara Ann Jonas Friday of Johnson City; a brother, David Kilgore of Johnson City. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews also survive him.
Funeral services for Gary will be conducted at 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 10, 2024 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Pastor Lenny Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the service hour. Graveside services will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Johnson City. Pallbearers will be Zachary Hamm, Noah Hamm, David Kilgore and Craig.
