BUTLER - Gary Edward Hilton, age 74, Butler passed away Thursday, February 16, 2024 at Jefferson City Health and Rehab Center with his sister by his side. He was born June 21, 1949 in Johnson City to the late Robert H. & Grace Rainbolt Hilton Stout. Gary was a lifelong resident of Butler. He was a graduate of Johnson County High School and attended East Tennessee State University. Gary served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a mechanic and farmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Hilda Dugger and his stepfather: Chester "Tilley" Stout.
Survivors include a sister: Mona Stout. A Niece: Tori Stout, A Nephew: Eric (Veronica) Stout. One Great Niece, Two Great Nephews and several cousins include a special cousin: Amy (Tyler) Thibodaux. Also, a special friend: Eddie Courtner.
Graveside Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 22, 2024
in the Mountain Home National Cemetery (Historic Section) with Pastor Harvey White officiating. Active Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be Wes Garland, Rick Stout, Ray Stout, Eddie Courtner and Andy Johnson. Military Honors will be provided by the DAV Chapter 38, Honor Guard, Bluff City. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Thursday. Condolences may be sent to the family at our website www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
