Garman Ray Basham, Jr.

GRAY - Garman Ray Basham Jr., 60, of Gray, TN, passed away on April 3, 2025. He was born on July 2, 1964, and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his father Garman Ray Basham Sr., his mother Juanita Jean Basham, and sister Sandy Lynn Basham.

Ray is survived by his devoted wife, Renee Basham; children, Brandy (Charlie), Joseph (Ashlyn), Thomas, Morgan, Megan, Zayne, Natalie, and Kaitlyn (Cayla); his grandchildren, Bryson, AJ, and David. He is also survived by a host of extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.

If you had the pleasure to meet Ray. You know how special his greeting "Hi I'm Ray" was. He had a dedicated work ethic throughout his life. He served as the Kiln Supervisor for General Shale until their doors closed, followed by a fulfilling 15-year career with Rainbow Restorations, where he became known as an all-around handyman. His skills, work ethic, and joyful nature left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

In lieu of a traditional funeral, a private celebration of life will be held in the coming weeks. Details of the service will be announced at a later date.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Chad, Jenny, and Melissa, Ray's first cousins, for the prayers and support during this time, and to Matt Simerly, Ray's lifelong friend, for his unwavering friendship and love.
