Farrell Gage Obituary

Farrell "Gordon" Gage

September 27, 1942 -

January 8, 2025

JOHNSON CITY - Farrell "Gordon" Gage, a man renowned for his loving heart, generous spirit, and passionate enthusiasm for life, passed away in Johnson City, TN, on January 8, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on September 27, 1942, also in Johnson City, Gordon was a lifelong resident of the Boones Creek area and son of the late Farrell and Edna Gray Gage.

A proud alumnus of Boones Creek High School, Gordon was deeply rooted in his community, and after completing his education, life led him to eventually open and operate the House of Paneling for 30 years.

Gordon was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Known for his zest for life, Gordon raced dirt tracks with vigor for two decades, bringing excitement and joy to all who watched him round the bends. His love for the outdoors was evident through his enthusiasm for fishing, hunting, bowling, and shooting pool. True to his nature, Gordon was a real sportsman, relishing every chance to be amidst nature and in the thrill of the game.

While his passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, Gordon's memory will be cherished and kept alive by his loving wife, Barbara Gage; daughter Tammy Gage; son Brian Gage and daughter-in-law Melanie; brother Sherell Gage; and a host of nieces and nephews who will carry forward his legacy. In addition to his parents, Gordon is preceded in death by his sister, Hedi Routh, his sister-in-law, Charlotte Gage, and 4 nephews.

Gordon's life was a testament to the enduring power of love and passion, and he will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The family of Mr. Gage will receive friends on Sunday, January 12, 2025 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Snyder's Memorial. The funeral service will follow with Evangelist Charles "Toonie" Cash officiating.

Gordon will be laid to rest on Monday, January 13, 2025 at 12:00 PM, at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Attendees are to meet at the Garden of the Cross section of the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Washington County Animal Shelter. www.wcjcanimalshelter.org/donate/

Gordon was always so good to me. He extended credit to me for years while operating my drywall business. He helped me out by ordering a texturing machine for me and letting me make payments on it when times were tough. He´s a good man and was an even better friend. My prayers go out to his family and friends!
