Eva Joo August 13, 1934- June 28, 2024
Eva Joo, 89, left this earth, surrounded by her dearly loving family, to gracefully take her place among the angels above and reunite with the love of her life, Louis.
Born August 13, 1934, in Kardosret, Hungary, she grew up in the extremely difficult times there and survived only with the love of a wonderful family. When the Soviet Union invaded Hungary in 1956, she and Louis came to America seeking only the opportunity our great country offers.
They absolutely made the most of those opportunities, with Mom and Dad providing a loving and wonderful home with such grace. Mom was a true renaissance lady enjoying gardening, her rescue pets, sewing, cooking, baking and all of the many countless things that went into making our house the best home of all time.
Eva was a nurturer, inspirational and generously supportive to many individuals and groups. She will be profoundly missed, leaving a very special place in our hearts. We will forever miss her kind and gentle heart and soul.
Eva is survived by two sons, Louie Joo, Jr. and wife Janie and grandson, Jake "Boo" Ryan and Tom Joo and (Audrey); plus, her extended family overseas in Hungary.
The family of Eva Joo will receive friends from 2 to 3 pm Friday, July 5, 2024, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. A funeral mass will follow at 3 pm with Father Collins officiating. A graveside committal service will be held Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 10 am at Washington County Memory Gardens. Family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery by 9:50 am Saturday.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Rebecca Copeland and the staff of ETSU Family Physicians as well as Dr. Sallee Randolph and the staff of the Foot and Ankle Center.
