Eula Carr Obituary

Eula Dean Carr

May 13, 1930 -

May 26, 2025

PINEY FLATS - Eula Dean Carr, of Piney Flats, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 26, 2025, after a brief illness, at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Dean was born on May 13, 1930, into the loving home of Ollie and Nellie Shell, of Carter County, Tennessee.

She received an Associate's Degree in Business from Steed College in Johnson City.

Along with her parents, Dean is preceded in death by: her loving husband of 55 years, John R. Carr; two sisters, Nola Meredith and Ruth Curd; one brother, Jr. Shell.

Those remaining to cherish her memory include: one son, Bob (Susie) Carr; one grandson, Bobby (Elizabeth) Carr; four great-grandchildren, John Ember Carr, Nicole Ellen Carr, Lily Grace Carr, and Asher Belrick Carr; one great-great-granddaughter, Eliza Drew; two god-daughters, Myra (Steve) Bradshaw and Wanda (Phillip) Arwood-Honeycutt; several nieces and nephews; and three very special friends, Donna Lester, Susie Taylor, and Randy (Carolyn) Weaver.

Dean treated everyone with such love and compassion, that you could truly see Christ in her. She believed in: family sticking together no matter what, the healing power of food (which she shared with the Tri-Cities through her company Dean's Florist & Catering for many years), that anything can be celebrated at any time, and in the Grace and Goodness of God. Everyone who has known her has been blessed and are better for it. Dean loved going to church at New Hope Church of Christ and was a charter member. She enjoyed watching the Gaither Gospel Hour, which reminded her of her days in the studio as a country and gospel artist. Dean loved supporting veterans, traveling, cooking, making beautiful flower arrangements, talking on the phone with friends and family, making interesting outfits, decorating homes, and most of all she adored Ember. Dean has been head-over-heels for Ember since the day he was born 5 years ago. They played together almost every day.

Dean taught us so many important things about loving people. She would say things like, "Anything can be celebrated, at any time, so long as it works for everyone!", "If the food didn't turn out well, just tell everyone it's a new thing and slap a name on it!", and "The only thing that really matters is each other. If you've got family, you've got everything!" She would give a comforting smile and a wink at that last one.

A visitation of friends is scheduled from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, June 2, 2025, in the Dogwood Chapel at Morris-Baker Funeral Home.

The funeral for Dean will begin immediately following the visitation at 7:00 pm. Elder Randy Weaver will be officiating the service.

A committal service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in the Mausoleum Chapel at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the Mausoleum Chapel by 9:50 am.
