Mr. Elbert Eugene "Gene" Lockner November 11, 1939 - September 11, 2024
JONESBOROUGH - Mr. Elbert Eugene "Gene" Lockner, age 84, of Jonesborough, passed away on September 11, 2024, at Four Oaks Nursing Home.
Gene was born on November 11, 1939, to the late Blaine and Mary Story Lockner, in Washington County, Tennessee.
He proudly served his county in the United States Army. Gene retired from Hoover Ball in Erwin, Tennessee. Gene was of the Baptist faith. He loved NASCAR and enjoyed collecting automobiles and other odds and ends. He loved doing mechanic work.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Lois Lockner; son, Lynn Lockner; sisters, Carolyn Ann Lockner Williams and Geraldine Ewing.
Survivors include brother-in-law, Bill Ewing; nephews, Gerald Williams and his wife, Chita and Kevin Williams and his wife, Vicky; great-nieces, Allison W. Bennett and Kennedie Renfro; great-nephews, Jonathan T. Williams, Alex Renfro, and Samuel Williams; great-great-nieces, Ava N. Bennett and Emma R. Bennett.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 AM, on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Cherry Grove Cemetery with Rev. Brian Brown officiating. Friends may come by Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, on Friday, September 20, 2024, to view and sign the register.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cherry Grove Cemetery Fund, 188 Cherry Grove Rd, Jonesborough, TN 37659.
