ELIZABETHTON - Elbert Jerry Garrison, 84, Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024 in the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Roy F. & Alta Davis Garrison. He was a graduate of Hampton High School. Jerry served in the United States Air Force. He was a retired Mill Wright at Tennessee Eastman. He was a member of Valley Forge Christian Church. He loved to hunt and fish and was an avid UT Football Fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Garrison, by a daughter, Cindy Austin, a son, Glen Garrison, A stepdaughter, Robin Colbaugh, a stepson, Roger Edney, a sister, Doris Arnold and a brother, Jack Garrison.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Kathy Rose and husband Bruce, Nashville, Tenn., and Sherrie Edney, Elizabethton; one sister, Brenda Joyce Stout, Bloomington, Indiana; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a step-daughter-in-law, Barbara Edney.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2024 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor David Siebenaler officiating. Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Military Honors will be provided. The family would like to express a special thank you to his caregiver; Sarah Steele and the doctors & nurses at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday prior to the service. Condolences may be sent to the family at our website www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
