ELIZABETHTON - Edna Jean Campbell, age 71, of Elizabethton, TN went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Edna was born in Carter County to the late Bill Norris and Katie McGee Hampton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jamie Presnell; daughter, Jessica Presnell McCool and brothers, Tommy Hampton and Henry "Jr." Hampton.
Edna was a sweet Christian woman. She had a hard life but maintained her faith in God. Edna was of the Baptist faith and was a member of East Side Freewill Baptist Church when her health permitted.
Those left to cherish and remember Edna include her beloved husband of 26 years, Ralph Campbell of the home; brother, Herb Hampton and wife DeEtte of Butler; sisters, Dorothy Richardson of Elizabethton, Shirley Hardgrove of Nashville; brother-in-law, Johnny L. Richardson; as well as several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family of Mrs. Campbell will receive friends Monday, February 12, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. The funeral service will follow with Pastor Steve Davis officiating.
The graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Rittertown Baptist Church Cemetery.
