JOHNSON CITY - Mr. Earl Walter "Bud" Sell Jr., age 86, of Johnson City, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Hermitage Healthcare of Elizabethton.
Earl was born to the late Earl Sell Sr. and Jeanne Lyle Sell in Johnson City, TN on August 9, 1937.
He was a member of Knob Creek Covenant Brethren Church, a member of the Johnson City Lodge #486 F&AM and the past potentate of the Jericho Shrine Temple. He was a Farmer and Co-Founder of Tri-State Antique Power.
In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Alta Lewis Sell; one brother, Jim Sell; one sister, Joan Sell.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Donna Sell of Johnson City and Debbie Sell Barefoot (Phil) of Charlotte, North Carolina; son, Earl Sell III (Lisa) of Johnson City; grandchildren, Morgan Sell Gayler (Ryne), Gavin Sell (Kiana); great-grandchildren, Stella Rain Gayler, Hazel Wren Gayler and Iyla Sell; sister, Nancy Roberts; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor John Swonger, officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, prior to the service. A Graveside will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Phil Barefoot, Gavin Sell, Ryne Gayler, Chris Lewis, Gary Greene, and Dylan Cox. Honorary pallbearers will be Leonard Lewis and Blain Lewis.
Special thanks to Hermitage Health and Rehabilitation Center and Amedysis Hospice for their wonderful care, especially Allie. No one could brighten his day like Allie. Chasity and Daniel were also always by his side, listening to his endless stories about farming.
