Doug Williams Obituary

Mr. Doug Gregory Williams

June 19, 1980 -

January 4, 2025

CHUCKEY - Mr. Doug Gregory Williams, age 44, Chuckey, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Greeneville Community Hospital.

Mr. Williams was born on June 19, 1980, in Brooklyn, New York, to Jenny Yorke Williams, Brooklyn, NY and the late Cyril E. Williams.

Doug was a beloved husband, father, and friend who touched the lives of everyone he met. His passion for life was evident in everything he did. He was very proud to be a United States Marine Corps Veteran, having served three combat tours in Iraq.

He was known as Doug "The Cobra" Williams to many, as he was a Professional MMA Heavyweight Champion out of Team Oxendine in Johnson City, but most importantly he was known by the way he loved his family and his friends. Doug had an incredible ability to express his true emotions, making those around him feel deeply valued and appreciated.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife that he was so excited to marry on October 22, 2024, Brandi Williams of Chuckey, his children that he was so proud of and loved so deeply, Doug Williams, Jr. and Donte' Williams (Lindsay Cole) both of Johnson City, Gianna Williams (Mason Fisher), Knoxville, Darius Williams, Iceland, Charli Williams, Chuckey, Infanta Williams, Elizabethton, and Graci Williams, Chuckey; brothers, Christopher Thom Williams, Cyril Williams, Jr. and Nigel Williams; sisters, Debbie Pitual (David), Karla Williams (Rosendo Coss), and Angelena Williams (Navin Sookai); Godmother, Rosanne Philadelphia; special friends, Diana Reid (Brett Ashby), Rajiv "Chief" Sinha and his special Aunt, Paula Lewis.

Doug's legacy will continue to live on through the countless lives he impacted with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. Doug will be dearly missed by so many, but his spirit will remain in our hearts forever. His memory will be a guiding light for all who knew him, reminding us to live passionately and love deeply, just as he did.

Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 pm Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor John Buchanan officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Thursday prior to the service at 7:00pm.

Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Williams, Jr, Rajiv "Chief" Sinha Donte' Williams, Christopher Thom Williams, Brett Ashby, Randy Cole and Casey Oxendine.
