Dorothy Eleanor Steinberg

Dorothy was born July 1, 1925 to Oscar and Julia (Branes) Bergh in Cereal. Alberta, Canada. In 1926 the family moved to a farm near Sinai, South Dakota where she spent her childhood.

On April 9, 1948 she married Jay M. Steinberg at the Seattle YMCA. Jay preceded her in death in October 2007. Jay was a newspaperman and the Steinberg's owned a weekly newspaper in Erwin, TN.

After selling the newspaper, the family moved to Kent, WA. During retirement, they did extensive genealogy research on Dorothy's Norwegian ancestors. They spent 5 summers in Norway doing research. The data base has over 62,000 persons.

Dorothy was a lifelong Lutheran and member of All Saints Lutheran Church in Auburn, WA.

Also preceding her in death were her daughter, Daphne Faye Urias, brother, Oliver Bergh and seven sisters, Cecelia Holter, Thea Bergh, Ruth Billman, Marjorie Davies, Marie Bergh, Clarice Dravland and Audrey Iverson.

Surviving are her son, Douglas (Brenda) Steinberg, three granddaughters, Angelika (Clay) Steinberg, Julie (Greg) Mollichi, and Bayleigh (Jimmie) Saechao, four great grandchildren, Isabelle and Talon Mollichi, Lincoln and Grady Saechao. A step granddaughter, Quintisha Fox, a step grandson, Christopher Rivers and a step great granddaughter, Jayleah Fay Fox also survive.

Private family graveside services will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, WA.
