KINGSPORT - Doris Ruth Lowry, 85, of Kingsport, Tennessee went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 21, 2025.

She was the daughter of the late Marvin and Ada Dean of Pennington Gap, Virginia.

She was a graduate of Pennington Gap High School in 1957, and retired from the family-owned business, Lowry Office Equipment Company.

Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and a friend to many. She will be deeply missed by those who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by infant twins, Jeffery Dwain and Janet Delaine Lowry; son, Frank Arnold (Arnie) Lowry III; sisters, Geneva "Billie" (Frank) Hensley; Sue (Jim) Matlock; and brother-in-law, Hal Brown.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 65 years, Frank Arnold Lowry, Jr.; daughter, Cindy (Shawn) Edwards; grandsons, Adam (Madison) Edwards and Luke Edwards; sisters, Sylvia Brown and Beatrice Johnson; along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:00 pm Saturday, March 1, 2025, in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home in Kingsport, TN.

The Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm with Dwight Marlow officiating.

A Graveside Service for family will be conducted at 3:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Resurrection.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doris' name to Bays Mountain Park and Planetarium by writing a check to East TN Foundation, writing Bays Mountain Capital Campaign in the memo line, and mailing to PO Box 3388, Kingsport, TN 37664, or by donating on-line.

The care of Doris Ruth Lowry and her family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.
