July 11, 1963 - July 8, 2025
PINEY FLATS -Donna Renee Simerly, age 61, of Piney Flats, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at the residence of her mother. She was the daughter of Betty Nidiffer Simerly and the late Rex A. Simerly and was born in Chattanooga, TN on July 11, 1963.
Donna worked as a case manager at Youth Opportunity Investments, LLC and was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church in Elizabethton.
Those left to cherish her many memories include her mother, Betty Nidiffer Simerly of Elizabethton; an aunt, Kathryn I. Norris of Jonesborough; two uncles, Max Simerly (Teresa) of Unicoi and Steve Simerly (Crystal) of Elizabethton; and several cousins.
Private services will be held at Happy Valley Memorial Park.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Oak Street Baptist Church, 804 Oak Street, Elizabethton, TN, 37643.

Donna and I were roommates way back in 1986. We met about a year prior to that. We stayed friends throughout the years. I was very sad to learn that she passed. I wondered why she hadn´t been responding to my messages. I wish she had just been mad at me. I love you, Donna.

Donna was a very sweet lady that worked with my nephew, Travis at Envision. We got to know her when she brought him to visit our family. Travis and all of us were very fond of her. Was so sorry to hear this
