JONESBOROUGH - Diana Huff Klein, age 77, of Jonesborough, TN, passed away of leukemia on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, a daughter of the late William Henry Bedford and Mathilde Van Lennep Bedford.
At the age of six she was taken to Europe where her father began work for Standard Oil. Given the duties of the job, Mr. Bedford and Diana lived in numerous countries to include France, Switzerland, Denmark and the United Kingdom where she became fluent in three languages. An avid lover of fashion, Diana was invited to work as a sales associate for couturier Christian Dior in London at the age of 18. Her retail skills were so notable that two years later she was promoted to work with the fashion boutique's customers for haute couteur. Years later, she returned to the United States.
Diana is survived by her husband of 39 years, Dean Klein, their son, Casey, his wife Veronica and their daughter, Michaela.
There will be no formal services. A Committal Service and Inurnment will be held at a later date in the St. Mary's Garden at Monte Vista Memorial Park.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Johnson City Medical Center doctors, nurses and staff for their concern for Diana and high quality of the care they provided.
