Destinie May Obituary
April 13, 2025
Destinie Marie May, age 23, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 13, 2025, leaving behind a trail of light, laughter, and love that will never be forgotten. She was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, a daughter of William Ernest May, Jr., and Tina Marie Walker May. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, William May, Sr. and Rita May; and step grandfather, Paul Church.
Born with a heart full of wonder and a spirit that radiated kindness, Destinie touched everyone she met with her warmth and sincerity. A devoted lover of cats and all creatures great and small, Destinie found joy in the gentle purr of her feline friends, Miley and Winstin. Whether wandering wooded trails, swimming in the pools and streams, or simply sitting with a book, listening to music or dancing, she found peace in the simplicity of life's purest moments. Destinie had a soul that brightly shined, a lovely spirit who brought calm in chaos, laughter in silence, and compassion in sorrow.
She is survived by her loving fiancé, Brandon Reed; her mother, Tina May and David; her father, William May and Luci; her brother, Dalton May and Allison; maternal grandmother, Shelby Church; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life with friends and family will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at The Villas at Avonlea Place Clubhouse, 101 Avonlea Place, Johnson City, TN. Come share your memories.
She leaves behind a world better for having known her, and hearts aching with her absence. Though her time with us was far too short, the imprint she left will remain eternal.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to your local animal shelter or pet rescue of choice in her memory. May her memory forever be a guiding light in the lives of those she touched.
