JOHNSON CITY - Delores Jean Chafin, age 82, of Johnson City, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2025 at Johnson City Medical Center.
She was a woman who found joy in the everyday things. She loved to sew and could often be found working on a project, making something special for someone she cared about.
Baking cakes was one of her favorite ways to show love, and she was always happy to share what she made.
Her family was the center of her world, and she treasured time spent with them. She also enjoyed shopping and getting out, especially when it meant spending time with the people she loved.
Delores worked in the bakery at Walmart, where she was known for her hard work and friendly smile. She took pride in her job and enjoyed serving customers and working alongside her coworkers.
She will be remembered for her kind heart, her love for her family, and the simple ways she made life sweeter for those around her.
In addition to her parents, Delores was preceded in death by her sons Mike and Ray Chafin; daughters, Debbie and Cathy Cafin and Lisa Guy.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include, a daughter, Victoria Chafin; brothers, Ronnie Snyder (Janie) and Terry Snyder; Grandsons, Timmy Guy, Eric Thomas, Josh Holtsclaw, and Chis Chafin; Granddaughters, Heather Cash, Jessica Holtsclaw, and Shauna Chafin; several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City, with Reverend Randy Rice officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. and will continue until the hour of service. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from friends and family.
