Davis "Bill" Gray

January 14, 2026

ERWIN - Davis "Bill" Gray, 93 of Erwin passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Governors Bend in Erwin. He was a native of Johnson City and was a son of the late Haro and Mary Phillips Gray. Mr. Gray was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church in Erwin where he had sang in the choir and also had served as a bus driver. Mr. Gray was a veteran having proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines. He had worked in construction most of his life.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Hash Gray in 1996; a son, Denzil Gray; a step-son, Robert Page; a grandson, Luke Fronckoski; a sister, Dora Calvi and a daughter-in-law, Linda Gray.

Survivors include his wife, Iva Lee Shook Gray of Erwin; a son, Gary Gray and his wife, Marcy of Rapid City, SD; a daughter, Lydia Fronckoski and her husband, Mike of St. Augustine, FL; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services with Military Honors for Mr. Gray will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, January 19, 2026 in the Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, Erwin, TN with Pastor David Crutchfield officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. For those attending you are asked to meet at the Mausoleum Chapel by 1:50 PM.
