David Williams Obituary

David "Brent" Williams

March 3, 2025

JOHNSON CITY - David "Brent" Williams, 82, passed away peacefully at his home in Johnson City, Tennessee, on Monday, March 3, 2025.

Brent was a proud lifelong resident of Johnson City, where he was born and raised. A 1960 graduate of Science Hill High School, Brent went on to Herman Robinson Vocational School as well as East Tennessee State University. He spent a long career in engineering with the Veterans Administration. In his spare time, Brent enjoyed all things in flight. He loved birdwatching and feeding them in his yard in addition to his own flying lessons! Brent was also known to be passionate about his native Johnson City. He was a proud member of his community and enjoyed talking about the rich history of his city and the surrounding area.

Brent is preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Judith Williams; sister, Julane Lowe; brothers, George (Tony) Williams and Jim Williams.

Those left to cherish Brent's memory are his loving wife, Dorothy Williams; sister, Elizabeth Lacy; daughter, Janet Williams; granddaughters, Jaime Black and Ella Lucas; stepsons, Brady Campbell and Alex Campbell (Brittney); step-grandsons, Braylon Campbell and Brogen Campbell as well as his Johnson City neighbors and friends at Clifton View Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank Dr. Keith Cook, Dr. Martin Tran, Dr. Jeffrey Schoondyke, and the devoted staff at Ballad Hospice for their compassionate and devoted care.

Respects may be paid at a gathering of friends to be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Ave, Johnson City, TN. A memorial service honoring Brent's life will commence at 3:00 PM with Reverend Gary Edwards officiating.

I am sorry to read this about the loss of Brent. I grew up with him, and attended Science Hill with him. I lost touch with him when I moved to Fla!
