David Lambert Obituary

David W. Lambert July 20, 1943- April 25, 2024

JOHNSON CITY - David W. Lambert, 80, Johnson City passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at the Johnson City Medical Center. David was born in Asheville, NC and grew up in Charlottesville, VA. He attended Virginia Tech and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1966. David received his MBA from the University of Tennessee in 1973. He worked for Eastman Chemical Company both in Kingsport, TN and Columbia, SC.

David was a very active member of the United Methodist Church in Irmo, SC. He enjoyed Virginia Tech Sports and being a handyman for friends and family. David was a member of the Jaycee's in Kingsport and a Gray Volunteer Fire Patrolman.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey W. Lambert and Mary Emily Brown Lambert.

Survivors include his loving wife, Rebecca "Becky" Port Lambert; his son, Michael D. Lambert and his wife, Betsy; two grandchildren, Nolan Cooper Lambert and Hannah Lambert; two step-grandchildren, Cameron Butler and Callie Butler; his brother, William "Bill" Lambert and his wife, Judy; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will have a private graveside service at Guilford College Cemetery in Greensboro, NC at a later date.
