HAMPTON - Daniel Boyd Smith, 78, Hampton passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at his residence. He was born November 11, 1945, in Boone, West Virginia to the late Charles B. & Helen Virginia Simerly Smith. He had lived in Carter County for thirty-three years. He was retired from the United States Navy. He also had worked for the Griffith Dewatering in Virginia. He loved to cook. In earlier years he attended Rittertown Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Danny Boyd Smith, a granddaughter: Kathryn Jean Hamilton, and a brother: Mike Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Paula Moberg Smith; a son: Patrick Christopher Smith. three stepchildren: Larry Wayne Hamilton, Jeffery Shannon Hamilton and Angela Norine Hamilton; five grandchildren: Daniel Lucas Teague, Hailey Smith, Logan Holmes, Brianna Hamilton and Alyssa Hamilton; one brother: Richard Smith; two sisters: Connie (David) Holmes and Margaret (Henry) Hicks and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024, in the Rittertown Baptist Church Cemetery with Mr. Dwayne Calhoun, Minister officiating. Active Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Hamilton, Larry Williams, Bobby Joe Taylor and Brian Williams. Military Honors will be provided by DAV Chapter 39 Honor Guard, Bluff City. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Saturday. Condolences may be sent to the family at our website www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
