JOHNSON CITY - Daniel Phillips, age 90, of Johnson City, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at his home. A native of Washington County, Daniel is a son of the late Richard Campbell and Rosa (Cox) Phillips. He was a member of The Midst Church in Johnson City and also had attended Fishery Community Church and Erwin Pentecostal Holiness Church, both in Erwin. Daniel loved talking about the Lord, playing the harmonica, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Daniel is preceded in death by his stepfather, Rufus Phillips; sister, Ida Lou Haws; and grandson, Garrett Williams.
Daniel Phillips has left behind to cherish his memory: wife of 55 years, Eula (Lyle) Phillips; daughters: Sandy Williams (Steve) and Tammy Treadway (Chris); grandchildren: Kendrick Williams (Hannah) and Hannah Treadway; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to offer special thanks to Dr. Allan Colyar, the doctors, nurses and staff of Amedisys Hospice, Jason Street, and Robin Bradley for their loving care and support.
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Daniel Phillips in a graveside committal service to be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 in Fishery Community Church Cemetery. Pastor Jamie Hughes will officiate. Those who wish to attend the committal service should meet at the cemetery by 1:50 pm on Wednesday for the service. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: David Lyle, Steve Williams, Chris Treadway, Kendrick Williams, Tim Tipton, Adam Logan, Gidien Higgins, Hunter Wright and Corben Eller.
