JOHNSON CITY - Dan "Robbie" Blake, age 52, of Johnson City, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Dan was born in Orlando, Florida on May 21, 1972 to Sabrina Chambers of Cocoa, Florida and the late Danny Lee Blake. In addition to his father, Dan is also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Nancy and Joseph O'Hearn; his great grandparents, Edith and Austin Copple; and his paternal grandparents, Jean and Harold Blake.

Dan was employed as a special agent for the Department of Homeland Security and was a United States Navy veteran, serving his country proudly during Operation Desert Storm. Dan was a member of Rivers Edge Fellowship Church and was also an ordained minister and was going to be an Elder in the church. He was also a Senior Cloud architect. Dan enjoyed being outdoors and fishing on his boat, riding his tractor and his Gator, putting up Christmas light displays of pixel lights. An avid Atlanta Braves fan, Dan also enjoyed watching the Braves games and most of all, he loved his family and spending time with them.

Those left to cherish Dan's memory include his beloved wife, Madison Blake; his children, Ciarah Blake of Maine, Jeffery Mooney, III, US Navy, Allison Blake, Tesla Blake and Joseph Blake and his foster son, Selvin Chocooj-Tzib all of the home; a sister, Cameron Priske of Cape Canaveral, FL; and many cousins, aunts and uncles also survive.

A celebration of Dan's life will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Rivers Edge Fellowship Church with Pastor Ricky Jones officiating. The family will receive friends between the hours of 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM prior to the service on Wednesday. Music will be under the direction of Rivers Edge Fellowship Church.

There will be a separate "Celebration of Life" at a later date for friends and family scattered across the nation.

Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Rivers Edge Fellowship Church in care of the "Illuminate Ministry".

I am truly and deeply saddened by the sudden loss of Danny. Danny was always kind and sincere and he was always the person to shoot for the extra mile. He was a hardworking and professional cloud architect and will be greatly missed.

Deepest condolences to Danny's family for your loss. Our Peraton and Department of Homeland Security teams all cherished our time with Danny. His contribution on both a professional and personal level made us better and will be missed. Always a bright light in any meeting, his positivity and energy were a welcome part of our day and a wonderful example to us all.
Danny has found peace. I pray for the rest of us that we may heal and find the strength to continue in the best way possible, as he would want for us.

My sincere condolences to such an unexpected passing. I did not know Dan very well as I had only a short time getting to know him in his new position with our department but from the interactions I had with him, I knew he was a good person. A bright spot on our conference calls and ever the professional when called on for advice. He will be missed by all here at the Department of Homeland Security!
