Clarence Bralley Obituary

Clarence (Bill) W. Bralley, Jr.

September 7, 1941 -

August 26, 2024

Clarence (Bill) W. Bralley Jr., was born in Johnson City, TN, on Sunday, September 7, 1941, to the late Clarence W. Bralley and Nancy Wolfe Bralley.

A lifelong City resident and Methodist, Bill died of a heart attack on Sunday, August 26, 2024, while on a hike. He is survived by a sister, Anne B. Reel of Jonesborough, TN, and several cousins.

Bill was educated in the city schools, finishing at Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia, and next earning a B.S. from the University of Kentucky.

Bill pursued a variety of interests. He was a black belt in karate and held a private pilot's license. He enjoyed fraternity life and competed in college shooting matches. He planned a teaching career.

With so much to live for, Bill developed schizophrenia, and it destroyed his life, despite his continuing struggles to overcome it.

Bill's cremated remains will be interred in the family plot at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Date to be determined.

"And the child who is born on the Sabbath Day is bonny and blithe and good and gay." Sunday's child is finally free!

Dear Anne,
I'm so sorry to hear of Bill's death. Both of you bring back good memories of our growing up days. Did you know that the only bicycle l ever had was one of yours? It was a great one and I probably wore it out

I did not know about Bill's health/mental issues. That was sad to know.
| left J. C. when I married in 1967 and lost connection with many people we grew up with.

But Bill stopped by the home place after Mama died and visited with me for a few minutes. That would have been in 2003. I had not seen him in a long time.
I pray for God to comfort your heart and give you His peace in your loss of Bill.

John died at the age of 45 and Billy died in 2005.
God has blessed me with long life, and I am thankful.
Blessings upon you, Anne
