In Loving Memory of Christi Carole Calbot, born July 21, 1959, in Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025, surrounded by love.
A proud 1977 graduate of Science Hill High School, Christi went on to attend East Tennessee State University before beginning a rich life filled with adventure and joy. In 1981, her journey brought her to Sanibel Island, where she met the love of her life, Michael Calbot. After a long and happy engagement, they were married in 1988 in her hometown of Johnson City. Together, Christi and Michael built a beautiful life in Fort Myers, Florida-a life full of love, laughter, and countless treasured memories.
Christi had a boundless appreciation for the beauty of the world. She and Michael traveled extensively, exploring some of the world's finest museums and cultural treasures. She cherished art, music, and sports, but she found her deepest peace in the wonders of nature-especially birdwatching, which brought her so much joy. A devoted student of the Bible, Christi found strength and comfort in her faith, which guided her gentle spirit and loving heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Linda Cox of Johnson City, Tennessee. She is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Michael Calbot of Fort Myers, Florida; her brother, Roger "Buzz" Cox, and his wife Kara, along with their daughters Ryleigh and Kennedy of Johnson City; and her sister, Carla Snyder, and her husband Butch of Naples, Florida.
Christi will be laid to rest in her beloved mountains of East Tennessee at Monte Vista Memorial Park.
Though her time with us was far too short, Christi's love, laughter, and light will remain forever in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her. Her gentle presence and appreciation for life's beauty touched everyone she met, and her memory will continue to inspire us all.
