Charlotte Warner Obituary

Charlotte Marie Warner

November 25, 1931 -

November 17, 2024

ELIZABETHTON - Charlotte Marie Warner, age 92, Elizabethton, passed away Sunday November 17th at her residence with her sons by her side. Mrs. Warner was born in Elizabethton November 25, 1931 during the Great Depression.

Her parents were Jack Berry of Elizabethton and Margaret Gray of Jonesborough. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jack, Bobbie, Howard and Harold (twins) and sisters Carolyn and Tommy Jo Price, and one grandson Joshua Lane Warner. She has one surviving sibling William Honeycutt of Kingsport and cousins Raymond and Jean Davis of Warren, OH.

She is also survived by her sons Paul, John, Terry, Edward and Thomas Jeffery. Grandchildren Michael and Christian Warner, and Logan Grant, along with many nieces, nephews and countless special friends.

Charlotte was a member of True Gospel Baptist Church on Gap Creek Road, from 1968 - 2007 teaching children Sunday school. When True Gospel Baptist had their initial Baptismal installed, she was the first to be Baptized.

In 2007 she then became a member of Zion Baptist Church, just up the street on Gap Creek Road from True Gospel. As with every other focus of her life and interests, she was dedicated to God first and family second. And she loved her family enough to introduce them to Jesus.

She loved children of all ages and they loved her. Charlotte was known to have said "You will be found to be a good person if children, elderly

people and animals like you." She always went out of her way to support elderly and children causes.

She traveled between South Dakota and Florida as a health care giver for the elderly. Traveling was one of her passions. She always kept a bag packed and her passport updated "just in case." And her just in case included a decent amount of time in Europe traveling the countries of Italy, Austria and Germany to name a few. She spent one Christmas in Munich, Germany where she had the pleasure of meeting "the real Chris Kringle" or would it be correctly stated that he met Charlotte Warner?

She was a published author with one of her poems being selected by Readers Digest. She loved to cook and try new recipes. It was a good thing that she liked to cook because as a single parent she had a houseful of growing boys to feed. Her spaghetti sauce was off of the chain. She always cooked extra to share with the widows in her neighborhood. She was known to make gift bags and baskets for the widows on each major holiday. The Easter baskets to these widows were great anticipated.

The Warner Brothers would like to send a special thanks to the office of Dr. Jonathan Bremer and his caring staff. Also a special thanks to Danetta Oliver for the decades-long "hair maintenance" and color control. A huge thank you to the Amedisys staff and care givers. Their home health care during the final weeks of Charlotte's life providing her great comfort.

Her personality was one that she never met a stranger. And her attitude was one of "It's not that I am always right, its that I am never wrong. I thought I was once only to find that I was mistaken." Charlotte will certainly be missed by all that knew her - because to know her is to love her.

The Memorial service for Charlotte Marie Warner will be conducted at her church, Zion Baptist on Saturday November 23rd with family receiving friends from 5:00-7:00pm and the service at 7:00pm. Zion Baptist Church is located at 1982 Gap Creek Road in Elizabethton.

The Graveside service and internment is scheduled for Sunday at 2:00pm at Happy Valley Memorial Park. If anyone would prefer to participate in the funeral procession from Tetricks Funeral Home to Happy Valley Memorial Park the procession will be departing from their grounds in Elizabethton at precisely 1:15pm.
