Charles Nadeau January 12, 1928- September 19, 2024
JONESBOROUGH - Charles William "Porky" Nadeau, a cherished father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2024, at the Community Living Center in Johnson City.
Charles family will be receiving friends and loved ones on Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 2pm - 4pm at his home, to share memories and celebrate his life.
Born on January 12, 1928, in Johnson City, he was a son of the late, Joseph D. Nadeau, Sr. and Mary Burke Nadeau.
Charles' early years in Johnson City were filled with the warmth of a close-knit community and the bonds of a loving family. He proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army during World War II, a period that instilled in him a deep sense of duty and honor. After his military service, Charles dedicated his career to Burlington Industries as a skilled mechanic, where he was known for his strong work ethic and friendly demeanor.
A member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Charles faith was a guiding light throughout his life, providing him with comfort and a sense of purpose.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Susan Dykes of Johnson City; his son, Tim Nadeau and wife, Karissa of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; his grandchildren, Kristy Ray (Chad), Justin Dykes, Ashia Nadeau, Chelsey Needham, and Noah Nadeau; and six great-grandchildren He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Gladys Story Nadeau; and his siblings, Joseph, Elizabeth, Barbara, Virginia and his son-in-law, Freddy Dykes.
Those who knew Charles will remember him for his humor, his kindness and his unwavering love for his family and friends. He had a passion for gardening.
As we bid farewell to Charles Nadeau, we celebrate the life of a man who was loving, funny, and kind. Charles life story is one of dedication to his family, his country and his faith.

Susan,Tim, Kristy, Justin, Sorry to hear of Porky's passing. He was such a wonderful , kind, quiet spoken man. I have very fond memories of him putting up with us neighborhood kids! He and Gladys were like second parents. I hope you find peace and comfort knowing we are thinking of you. love, Myra
