JOHNSON CITY - Charles Edward Gouge, age 81, of Johnson City, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 20, 2025 at his home. Charles was born November 2, 1943 a son of the late Farrel and Mary Belle Garland Gouge. In addition to his parents, Charles was also preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Renae Gouge; and a brother, James Gouge.
Charles retired as a supervisor at Quebcor and the Kingsport Times News. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church and was an avid antique car restorer.
Those left to cherish and remember Charles include his beloved wife, Kathleen Gouge of the home; two daughters: Tena (Chad) McClelland of Johnson City and Tracy (Keith, Jr.) Bowers of Elizabethton; five grandchildren whom he adored: Keith Bowers, III, Allison Bowers, Isabelle Bowers, William Bowers and Madison McClelland; two brothers: Bill Gouge (Cindy) of Milligan College, TN and David Gouge (Pam) of Ringold, GA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service to honor Charles's life will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Reverend Walker Roberson and Reverend Daniel Wood officiating. Active pallbearers will be Keith Bowers, Jr., Chad McClelland, Keith Bowers, III, William Bowers, Roger Banks and Travis Harvey. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Gouge and David Gouge. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton at 10:00 AM on Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
Friends may call at the residence at any time.
Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations in memory of Charles to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis TN 38105.

My Uncle Charlie was one of a kind! He sure did love us. He leaves behind tons of memories especially when we would go on vacation and in tow with his roll of bologna and cheese. I will cherish all million of the memories we made with him. I can see and hear him now probably shaking Kaleb´s hand and saying "hello there bud" our family has a bond that cannot be broken. Rest Easy uncle Charlie!
