JOHNSON CITY - Charlene Hartley, 65, Johnson City passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at her residence. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Vernon & Patsy Smith Holtsclaw. Prior to her illness she loved to cook and go to yard sales. She was a member of the Simerly Creek Believers Fellowship Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Hartley and a brother: David Holtsclaw.

Survivors include her daughter & son-in-law: April & Benji Turner. Two Step-Daughters: Anita Hartley Allen and Jan Ball & husband David. One Granddaughter: Azura Turner, Her Bonus Son and his wife: Joe and Alaina Holtsclaw. Two Sisters: Debbie Benfield & husband Scott and Rachel Wise & husband Brady. Her special family members: Cheyanne Richardson and Paisley Holtsclaw. Her special little four legged furry friend "Rowdy".

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Steve Holtsclaw officiating. Music will be Jackie Mottern, Soloist and Pat Teague, Pianist. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Amedisys Hospice for the excellent care she received.
