Charla Walls Obituary

Charla Jean (Frick) Walls, 68, of Inverness, Florida, formally of Bonnie, Illinois, left her earthly home on October 17, 2024, at her residence. Charla was born March 30, 1956, to Marvin Dean and Deloris Colleen (McMillin) Frick.

Charla worked as the Administrative Assistant for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office for 33 years, where she retired in 2019.

Charla loved sewing, the sunshine in Florida, and her church family, but her greatness love and pride and joy was her nephew Jacob Ryan Frick. Anytime you talked with Charla you knew part of the conversation was going to include Jacob. She was very kind and loving and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Charla is survived by her brother, Marvin Ray Frick, and wife Sandra, nephew, Jacob Ryan Frick, several aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as her two very best friends in Mt. Vernon, IL, Carol Johnson and Jana Bratcher.

Charla was preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Colleen.

Per Charla's wishes there will be no public services. A private immediate family burial will take place at later date. Memorials in Charla's memory can be given to the Abner Cemetery and sent to Johnston Funeral Home in Ina, IL, or to her sister-in law, Sandra Frick, in Bonnie, IL.

Charla was my first friend when I moved to Inverness 2 years ago. She lived down the street from me. Charla, thank you for allowing me into your life. Please find peace and comfort. Will miss you, my friend.

Charla was my friend , a good friend . We had a lot in common. We follow the Lord and loved to sew. She always wanted to learn more. Last year, she traveled with me to Germany, where she met my family. What an energetic, joyful person. She had a lot of fun.

The world is a bit darker, less friendly, and much sadder. We knew Charla in passing, she regularly helped at Seven Rivers Church, always a happy smile and interesting chats. Our sadness is tempered by the reality tgat she was a flower in God's beautiful garden...so many enjoyed the "fragrance" of her kindness...wish we had lingered a bit longer as we stopped to say hello.
Heaven is so much more appealing to me now, knowing Charla will be a greeter there too! Randall, Winsome, and Kathy
