JOHNSON CITY - Carole Elaine Jenkins Stout, age 79, of Johnson City, Tennessee went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Elaine was born in Carter County to the late Henry Clyde Jenkins and Norene Williams Jenkins.
Elaine had been employed as a library information technician and was a member of Valley Forge Free Will Baptist church. She loved reading, shopping and spending time with her beloved cats.
Those left to cherish Elaine's memory include two sons, Scott Stout of Simpsonville, SC and Brian Stout of Johnson City; her brother, Hank Jenkins and wife Donna of Elizabethton; four nephews, Andrew Jenkins and wife Heather of Butler and Randall Jenkins and wife Kim, Daniel Jenkins and Kyle Jenkins all of Elizabethton; a great-niece, Chelsea Jenkins of Butler and a great-nephew, Colton Jenkins of Elizabethton. Several cousins also survive.
A service to celebrate Elaine's life will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Thursday, November 9, 2023 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel prior to the service on Thursday.
The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations in Elaine's memory to the Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church/ Building Fund, 1503 Riverview Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
