JONESBOROUGH - Carol Gene Littleton, 82, of Jonesborough, a true Servant of God, went beyond the curtain of time at 1:00 am, Thursday, December 28, 2023. Gene was the son of the late Frank and Mae Light Littleton.
He was a devoted Christian, who attended Happy Valley Church of Jesus Christ, where he was a Deacon. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather who loved to farm and enjoyed driving a school bus for Washington County for 45 years.
In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his beloved wife Helen; his son, Chief Deputy Patrick Littleton; his siblings, Vella Baines, Norah Benfield, Junior Littleton, Bob Littleton, Dee Littleton, Gertrude Baines, Newt Littleton, Billy Guy Littleton, Basil Littleton, Orlean Littleton and Jay Littleton.
He leaves behind his children, Jamie Littleton and his wife Sheila, Darren Littleton and his wife Michelle, and Karen Hampton and her husband Doug. He also leaves his grandchildren, Joshua Littleton, Shalena Ward, Jeremy Littleton, Jordan Hughes, Hannah Woodward, Jacob Littleton, Caleb Hampton, and Allison Vasquez. As well as great-grandchildren, Cannon, Cade, Everleigh, Clyde, Sadie, Zoey, Eric, Aria, Alani, Jaxon, Aurora, and Briar.
Special mention to his nephew and best friend, Frankie Bacon, and also to Sarah Littleton, who helped care for our father.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 4, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 with Pastor Brother Donny Reagan officiating.
Gene will be laid to rest beside his wife on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 11:00am at Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be selected from among the family.
