JONESBOROUGH - Carol McKinney Lingerfelt, age 82, of Jonesborough, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on Friday, November 29, 2024, while she was surrounded by her loving family. She is a daughter of the late Clea and Gladys Bell McKinney. Carol lived most of her life in Jonesborough.

She was a member of Fishery Community Church. Carol was a devoted Christian woman who lived her life with the same characteristics and virtues of a true Proverbs 31: 10-31 woman.

Carol was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was the best mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother in the world! Carol was an excellent cook who enjoyed welcoming everyone into her home so she could feed them her delicious meals. She was a beautiful woman on the inside as well as her outward beauty. Carol was a very fashionable woman who took excellent care of herself, her family and her home.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years, Edward Dulaney Lingerfelt on August 30, 2022; her two sisters: Joyce Garland, and Judy Bishop.

Carol leaves behind to cherish many precious memories, her four children: Tim Lingerfelt (Heather), Kim Keys (Lee), who all reside in Johnson City, Mark Lingerfelt (Wendy), who reside in Unicoi, and Kelly Baker (Bryon), who reside in Mills River, NC; ten grandchildren: Devin Lingerfelt, Amber Lingerfelt, Jerissa Ward, Jo Blevins, Lindsey Wzorek, Justin Keys, Caitlyn Wilson, Peyton Lingerfelt, Caroline Baker, and Josie Dean Baker; seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 03, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Unicoi Funeral Home. Pastor Art Gibson will officiate the 7:00 p.m. funeral service. Carol's committal will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday in Bell Cemetery located in the Limestone Cove/Davis Springs Community. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend the committal should meet at the cemetery by 12:50 p.m. Wednesday.
