Carla (Ginger) Virginia Rhea November 4, 1956 - May 24, 2024
JOHNSON CITY - Carla (Ginger) Virginia Rhea, age 67 of Johnson City, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on the morning of Friday, May 24, 2024, after a lengthy battle with a chronic illness.
She was born on November 4, 1956, in Johnson City and attended David Crockett High School. Carla was a follower of Jesus Christ and reflected Christ's love through her actions, always treating others with respect and kindness. She was a loving mother to all her children.
Carla was a skilled crafter, making gnomes, wreaths, holiday decorations, and other unique creations for friends and family. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas, and spending time with loved ones. Carla had a witty sense of humor and was always fun to be around.
She was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, William and Nelle Rhea; her birth parents, Carl and Sue Heaton; her brother, David Phillips; her sister, Sherry Heaton; her brother, Roy "Dandy" Whitt; and her daughter, Christy Lynn Ward.
Those left to cherish her memory include: her sister, Connie Franke of Ogden, UT; her brother, Eric Heaton of Southampton, MA; her daughter, April Ward of Kingsport; and her sons, Thomas Hilton and Carter David Hilton, both of Johnson City.
A family gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate Carla.
