Cari Coates Obituary

Cari Susan Coates

December 2, 1991 -

October 25, 2024

The voice of an angel unexpectedly went home to sing with her heavenly choir on October 25, 2024. Cari Susan (Kiser) Coates brought music and laughter to everyone around her. Although her song on Earth has ended, it continues in the hearts of all who knew her. Cari was a light, a friend, and a force of love who made the world a brighter, kinder place.

Born with a voice and a heart that touched everyone around her, Cari found her first stage at Daniel Boone High School. There, she shined both on the soccer field and in the women's choir. Cari brought laughter to everyone around her and truly connected with all she encountered- even winning the title of Homecoming Queen her senior year. Her love of singing led her on a musical journey where she won the local Voice competition, started a band that quickly became well-known locally, and even recorded a song that she wrote in her time in Alaska.

Cari was a beloved partner to her devoted wife, Jessica, with whom she shared a life filled with laughter, adventure, and unconditional love. She was also an adored daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She leaves behind Jess, a loving family, and many friends who will forever hold her close in their memories.

Cari's love of animals was a constant throughout her life, beginning with a passion for horseback riding that started at a young age. She felt a special bond with horses, and as she grew, that love expanded to include cows and her cherished dogs, who were as much a part of her family as anyone else. Whether she was out for a trail ride, caring for her animals, or relaxing on the water, Cari found true joy in every aspect of life.

Though her time with us was far too brief, Cari's impact will continue to echo through the countless lives she touched with her kindness, laughter, and infectious energy. Her presence could turn even an ordinary day into something special, and her captivating soul and warmth made the world a little brighter for everyone lucky enough to know her. Though she may no longer be with us, her spirit will continue to light our lives and remind us to cherish each moment, as she always did.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Grace Meadows Church, 162 John France Rd in Jonesborough, TN, on Sunday, November 10, at 3:45 PM. In lieu of flowers, Donations are appreciated to the Appalachian Service Project for those effected by Hurricane Helene as well as Washington County Animal Shelter, in reflection of Cari's selflessness and giving heart.

You had your whole life ahead of you! I know you would have become a famous singer! Your voice was angelic! Hopefully you're continuing to sing even up there now! I love you sweet girl

Kerry, Charlotte n family. So many things we did as kids? And young adults and into the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and beyond!! Can't say I know how you feel, because I don't. Can only imagine the grief you are going through. Although we don't see each other as much or as often throughout the years I still love y'all. May God enjoy the greatest gift you could ever give him, the heart, soul and mind of a "child", just as he gave his only son!

Cari Susan and my daughters grew up together in the youth group at Boone Trail Baptist Church and went on to attend high school together. Cari was so full of life. She was always happy, laughing, acting silly and making everyone around her happy. Her laughter was contagious. We are heart broken at her loss and are praying for her mother and father and her siblings as well as Jessica. Rest in peace Cari Susan. The family of Jessica and Abbi Greene.
