JOHNSON CITY - Brenda Lee Morelock, age 64, of Johnson City, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025, at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Richard Arnold Hughes and Alomia Loretta Stevens Hughes and was born in Baltimore, Maryland on August 2, 1961. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Holland Morelock.

Brenda was a lifelong member of Sunset Freewill Baptist Church and had worked in nursing. She enjoyed working in her flowers and watching birds. She adored her fur babies "Riley" and "Faith".

Those left to cherish her many memories include her two children, Josh Crumley of Mountain City and Megan Slagle ("Bo") of Johnson City; three grandchildren, Hunter Slagle and Lily Slagle both of Johnson City and Kenneth Crumley of Mountain City; a sister, Amy Gouge (Jason) of Hampton; a special nephew, Gabriel Gouge of Hampton; and her special cousins who were known as the "Yayas"

A service to honor the life of Brenda Lee Morelock will be conducted at 7:00 PM Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Pastor Charlie Trivette and Pastor Gary Whitehead officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM prior to the service on Wednesday.

The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Bo Slagle, Hunter Slagle, Jason Gouge and Gabriel Gouge. Everyone will meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton at 10:15 am on Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the PCU Team at Johnson City Medical Center and to her Sunset Church family for their love an support over the years.
