Brenda McInturff Obituary

Brenda Sue McInturff

April 27, 2025

JOHNSON CITY - Brenda Sue McInturff, 77, Johnson City, passed away in the early morning of April 27, 2025 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Her husband and son were by her side and her daughter joined by video. Brenda was not alone; she was rarely ever alone. She is survived by her husband, Johnny K. McInturff, her daughter Wendy G. Pruitt and husband Steve, her son Jeffrey R. McInturff and wife Teal, her brother David L. Edwards and wife Carole.

John and Brenda married on Valentine's Day in 1970 and went right to work building a family and a life together. She excelled in all she attempted and was beloved everywhere she worked. People knew Brenda would give her all to solve their problems with her love of people. Whether managing a department or running her own business, she loved fiercely. She loved many, but her family came first. Her five granddaughters were the joy of her life-Megan, Madison, Madeline, Mackenzie, and Macy.

Brenda graduated from Unicoi County High School and Steed College. Artcraft Gloves, Dockery Floor Coverings, Grace Fellowship Church, Doe River Gorge, and Appalachian Christian Village were all blessed by Brenda's skill and drive. The Window Shoppe, which Brenda owned and ran for over 25 years, made her mark on many lives and homes both in and around Johnson City. Her Facebook has overflowed with love from the many people who knew her in these places or knew her family from far away.

She has been part of Riverside Church in Florida the last several years, even though she could only attend online. She would want you to know that it is never too late to call on the name of the Lord.

Please join the family to remember and honor Brenda's life at 6:00 PM in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home on Saturday, May 3. The receiving of friends will begin at 4:00 PM.

Those who prefer to make memorial donations in-lieu-of flowers may do so to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org.

Brenda was so kind and helpful to my parents and me at Appalachian Christian Village, anticipating what needed to be done and then helping us get it done and understanding our emotions through it all. She was truly a blessing to us during those years..

Brenda has been a neighbor at 2 locations in JC now & even though we lost touch for a few yrs, we picked right back up in friendship! She helped me tremendously after a house fire, redoing all the carpet & wallpaper, but esp w support! I know she had made a difference in many lives. I am so sorry about her sudden passing. Heaven is richer & gained a kind & lovely lady....many prayers. Love, Brenda Davidson
