Brenda Hale Obituary

ELIZABETHTON - Brenda Kaye White Hale, age 77, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Friday, March 8, 2024 after an extended illness at Johnson City Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Edith White.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Janis Richardson and Linda Oliver Miller and her brother, Randy Quillen.

After graduating in 1968 from East Tennessee State University, Brenda began her career working for the Carter County School System at Keenburg Elementary. She taught for 30 years and loved and remembered every student she had. Brenda served as Past President of the American Federation of Teachers Union #1140. She was also a member of the Past Mother Advisor of the Order of Rainbow Girls and Eastern Star. Brenda was a former Assistant Director of the Adult Literacy Program.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years, Richard L. Hale, Sr., of the home; son, Richard L. Hale, II and wife Juli, of Elizabethton; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Walls, of Elizabethton; grandchildren, Luke Hale, Camille Hale, Matthew Walls and Emily Walls; sisters, Phyllis Walker and Peggy Norris; nieces, Penny Booker, Arielle Booker and Jennifer Norris; nephew, Jonathan Norris and special friends, William Weaver and Linda Ellenburg.

A graveside service for Brenda will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Tim Mindemann officiating. Pallbearers will be, Luke Hale, Matthew Walls, William Weaver, Richard Lovette, Jr., Mike Owens and Kevin Sheffield. Honorary pallbearers are Terry Oliver and Robert Clark. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:45 PM on Thursday.

Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Shriners Childrens Hospital, P.O. Box 1525, Ranson, WV 25438.
