JOHNSON CITY - Brenda Kelley Garland, 79, Johnson City, passed away Friday, May 26, 2023, at her residence.
Brenda was a native of Johnson City and a daughter of the late Claude and Julia Geagley Kelley.
Brenda was a 1962 graduate of Science Hill High School. She retired from Northeast State Correctional Facility as an Account Technician. Brenda was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church. She was a very spirited woman. She loved her cats and her magnolia tree.
In addition to her parents Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Garland, and sister, Judy Johnston.
The funeral service for Brenda will be conducted Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at 6:00 P.M. from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Garland, officiating. The receiving of friends will be held prior to the service from 5:00-6:00 P.M. in the East Parlor of the funeral home.
Brenda will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park.
In-lieu-of flowers donations can be made to the Washington County Johnson City Animal Shelter, 3411 N. Roan St. Johnson City, TN 37601 or by visiting their website at www.wcjcanimalshelter.org.
