ERWIN - Brenda Lou (Phillips) Casey, age 78, of Erwin, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at her daughter's home. A native of Erwin, Brenda is a daughter of the late Noah Phillips and Mary Myrtle (Holloway) Phillips. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents Brenda was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Stanley Rex Casey; sisters: Betty Phillips Chandler, Bertie Sue Phillips and Hettie Amos; son-in-law, Rick Whitaker; sisters-in-law, Linda Casey, Bea Casey; and brother-in-law, Alvin Casey.
Brenda Lou (Phillips) Casey has left behind to cherish her memory: her children: Danny Casey (Janie), Tina Whitaker (Mike), Melissa Whitaker, and Stanley Brian Casey; adopted son, Kevin Shaw; grandchildren: Ricky Whitaker, Cindy Whitaker, Daniel Whitaker, Caleb Whitaker, Brandon Casey, Kaylee Tomlinson (Austin), Charlie English, Keisha Hughes (Chris), Keaton Casey, Heather Jordan (Juan), Alexis Whitaker, Madison Casey and Bentley Gregory; 24 great-grandchildren; brother, Lawrence Phillips; sister-in-law, Trula Casey; brother-in-law, William Casey; special niece, Viola Williams (Frank); several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many friends.
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Brenda Lou (Phillips) Casey in a funeral service to begin at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Brandon Flynn will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 5:00 pm on Tuesday and will continue until service time at Valley Funeral Home. A graveside committal service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, in Mountain Home National Cemetery, where Brenda will be laid to rest with her husband, Stanley. Those attending the committal service should meet at Mountain Home National Cemetery by 9:50 am on Wednesday for the service.
