Brenda Blazer October 24, 1957- July 5, 2024
GRAY - Brenda Blazer, 66, Gray, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 5, 2024, at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Brenda was born in Johnson City but lived most of her life in Washington County. She was a daughter of the late Charles G. and Rena Blazer.
Brenda was a 1975 graduate of Daniel Boone High School, which was the first class to attend there all four years and was a member of the Reflections.
She was a faithful member of Word Fellowship and was very active in their homeless ministry. Brenda was also a member of the Johnson City V.F.W. Post 2108 Ladies Auxiliary, the Loyal Order of the Moose, Erwin, and volunteered her time at the Community Help Center, Jonesborough.
She enjoyed playing most any card games and karaoke, but more than anything, loved spending time with her grandsons.
In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, John Hitechew.
Brenda is survived by her two children, Nickie Adams and husband Walt, Johnson City, and Charlie Green, Jacksonville, NC; three grandsons, Brayden Peak, Bentley and Gabriel Green, Jacksonville; her sister, Pat Hall and husband Fred, Gray; several cousins, extended family, and her Word Fellowship family.
The funeral service for Brenda will be conducted Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 7:00 P.M., from Word Fellowship, 225 Suncrest St., Johnson City, TN 37615, with Pastor Mike Gray, officiating.
The family will receive friends Thursday prior to the service from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the church.
The graveside committal service will be held Friday, July 12, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. in Harned's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1154 N. Highway 340, Parrottsville, TN 37843, with Pastor Donnie Humphreys, officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those planning to attend are to meet at the cemetery by 12:50 P.M. Friday.
In-lieu-of flowers, donations in Brenda's honor may be made to Community Help Center, 1591 Hwy. 81 North, Jonesborough, TN 37659, or Word Fellowship Homeless Ministry, P.O. Box 8263, Johnson City, TN 37615.
