LEXINGTON, KY - Bonnie J. Greene, 78, of Lexington, KY, passed away on December 13, 2023.
She was born on September 1, 1945, to Ella Mae Perry and John Smoot Brown.
Bonnie was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who brought joy to everyone she met. She had a warm smile and a kind heart that touched the lives of many. Bonnie had a passion for cooking and sewing, and she enjoyed working out at the Senior Citizen center. She found solace and strength in her faith and was an active member of Lower Rock Lick Baptist Church in Hillsboro, KY.
Bonnie is survived by her children: Connie Masters (Doug), Brenda Turner, Tommy Staggs (Lori), as well as her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her late husband Jack Greene, her sister Mildred G. Brown, her daughter Phyllis Orris, and several nieces and nephews.
In her earlier years, Bonnie attended primary school up to the 8th grade. She valued education and instilled its importance in her children and grandchildren.
A ceremony to celebrate Bonnie's life will be held on December 23rd at 1:00 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, located at 284 Mt. Zion Church Rd, Jonesborough, Tennessee 37659. Bonnie will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit of love and kindness will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched. May she rest in eternal peace.
