Bobby Jack Ward September 3, 1934- July 1, 2024
JOHNSON CITY - Bobby Jack Ward, 89, Johnson City, went home to be with his Lord, July 1, 2024 at Ivy Hall Nursing Home, Elizabethton. He was born September 3, 1934, in Butler to the late John David and Georgia Church Ward. He was retired from the United States Marine Corps. He was also a retired Mill Wright. He was a member of the Marine Corps League, Johnson City Masonic Lodge 486, the V.F.W. and a Shriner. Bobby was a member of Sinking Creek Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Boyd "Toot" Ward.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years: Shelby Deans Ward. Three Children: Debbie Butz and her late husband James Butz, Bobbie and husband Larry Lewis and Steve Ward. Three Grandchildren: Jennifer Butz, Bryan McCloud and Nick Sanders. Three Great Grandchildren: Liam, Madison and Crew Sanders.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2024 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Chuck Babb officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:30 until 6 p.m. Friday in the funeral home prior to the service. Graveside Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2024 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery (Masonic Section). Military Honors will be provided. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Caris Hospice, the staff at Ivy Hall Nursing Home and his church family for their care, support and prayers during his illness. Family and friends will assemble at the Mountain Home Cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Monday. Condolences may be sent to the family at our website www.memorial fcelizabethton.com. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Tunnel To Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, New York 10306. Memorial Funeral Chapel, Elizabethton is serving the Ward family.
