Bobby Slagle Obituary
April 6, 2025
BOWMANTOWN - Bobby Gene Slagle left his earthly home after a lengthy illness on April 6, 2025, at the age of 87, to join his Savior in Heaven. He was a lifelong resident of Bowmantown. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, John A. and Grace Ball Slagle, two brothers, and one sister.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 62 years, Carolyn Kyker Slagle, his only child, Dr. Mark A. Slagle, and nieces and nephews.
Bobby was a dairy and beef cattle farmer all his life. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Jonesborough, TN, and enjoyed watching the services online when he was no longer able to attend in person.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 9th, 2025, at 2:00 pm in Fairview Cemetery, (1033 Leesburg Road, Jonesborough, TN 37659), with Pastor Scott Thompson and Paul Garland officiating. Those who will be attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:50pm.
Pallbearers will be selected from friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the family members and friends who have supported them throughout this difficult time and to the staff at Amedisys Hospice for their excellent care.
