BLUFF CITY - Bobby Lynn Jones, 78, of Bluff City, Tennessee, was called Home by his Heavenly Father on January 3, 2025.

Bobby was born on a cold frosty morning on October 18, 1946, to the late Vernie P. and Hilda Walker Jones in Maryville, Tennessee. The family moved to Johnson City when Bobby was a boy to begin the business of Jones OK Tire Store. Bobby started working at the store at an early age and he and his brother, Phillip, operated the store after their parents retired. The store was in business for more than 60 years. They were known as The Bald Headed Jones Boys. Bobby appreciated his many customers who were from four generations. Bobby never met a stranger and no matter where he went, he met someone he knew.

Bobby graduated from Science Hill High School where he was a proud member of the football team. He enjoyed bass fishing, hunting, and Tennessee football.

Bobby was an active member of Chinquapin Grove Baptist Church. He was previously a member of Liberty Baptist Church where he served as an usher and greeter for many years. He loved the Lord and his church family and even when his health failed, he would ask, "Can we go to church today?"

Bobby is survived by his wife, Alice Vest Jones; bonus daughter, Debbie Abbott and husband, Lance and their children, Brandon (Tori) Abbott and Adrienne (Celeste) Meade and their children; bonus daughter, Becky Zinnanti and husband, Chet and their daughter, the joy of Bobby's life, Beth; brother, Phillip (Annie) Jones and their children, Phil (Jen), Tim (Lisa), and Brian (Alison) Jones and their children. He left a number of cousins and a lifelong friend, Freddie Markland.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm at Chinquapin Grove Baptist Church (1727 Chinquapin Grove Road, Bluff City) on Friday, January 10, 2025. The funeral will follow with Pastor Jamie Ferguson and Pastor Rusty Verran officiating. Burial will be at Monte Vista Memorial Park at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 11. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery.
