Bishop Carl Reed March 2, 1949- June 17, 2024
JONESBOROUGH - Bishop Carl Reed age 75 of Jonesborough TN went home to be with the Lord June 17, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.
Carl's greatest joy was to go to church. He belonged to the Apostolic faith and served God for 58 years. His dream was to build a church and that dream came true 18 years ago when founded the Apostolic Holiness church. He worked day and night, and his church was built in 31/2 months.
Carl was the pillar and strength of the Reed family He was an awesome husband, father, grandfather, pastor and godly example. He was extremely patient and humble. His love for God was incomparable. God was his number one in life.
He was born March 2nd, 1949, in Wheelwright Kentucky to Roy Reed of Prestonburg Kentucky and Eria Jean West of Greeneville TN. He was preceded in death by his son Kenneth Reed, his mother Eria Jean West, his father Roy Reed, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Charles and Elva Croy, his grandparents Norman and Nola West.
He was a member of United Mine Workers of America for 50 years. Also, he worked for General Motors for 10 years.
Those left to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 53 years Debbie Reed; sons Joseph Reed; Jonathan Reed wife Ashley; Daughter Ashley Elledge husband Joseph. Grandchildren Isaiah and Rachel Reed, Hannah, Adalynn, Joel, Benjamin Elledge all of Jonesborough. Also, an abundance of family, church family and friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday 10 am to 1 pm at Apostolic Holiness Church in Jonesborough. The funeral service will be held at 1 pm at the church Rev. Jonathan Reed and Rev. Joseph Elledge officiating. Family and friends will be pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers Chelsea's Condos Community. Special thank you to Gentiva Hospice for their special care for Carl during his sickness and special nurses, Seth Taylor, Keith Greene and Tonja Schnelle.
