JOHNSON CITY - Billy Blake "B.B." Adams, age 91, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly at the Johnson City Medical Center on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.
A lifelong resident of Johnson City, B.B. was born on March 22, 1932, to the late Charles and Sarah Troxwell Adams. After graduating from Science Hill High School in 1950, he joined the Marine Corps Reserve. B.B. was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for 35 years.
He was a member of Faith Fellowship Church.
B.B. was married to his first wife, Thelma Jean Widener Adams, until her death in 1998; together they raised four children. B.B. married his second wife, Margaret "Peggy" Wheeler Adams on June 5, 2018. He was very happy with both of his wives, and he loved both very much.
B.B. loved to play pool and dance. He was a loving person and loved his children and grandchildren very much.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Thelma Jean Adams; sons, Stephen Blake Adams and Mark Edward Adams; daughter, Judy Ann Adams; grandson, Michael Ryan Burgner; one sister; and one brother.
Those left to cherish his memory include his second wife, Peggy Adams; daughter, Debra (Bobby) Feathers; Peggy's children, Debra Remine, Larent Gregg, and Tommy Remine; grandchildren, Joshua Burgner, Stephen Burgner, Robert Ford, Jessie Ford, Adrienne Adams, and Blake Adams; great-grandchildren, Dylan Arnett, Robert Ford II, Draven Burgner, and special great-grandchild, Ryleigh Burgner.
B.B.'s family will receive friends from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home, with a funeral immediately following, under the direction of Pastor David Rouse. The committal service will commence immediately following, at 2:00 pm at Monte Vista Memorial Park. There will be a procession from the funeral home to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be selected from the family.

i met BB when I worked at the VFW many years ago and our families became very close friends i remember his wonderful sense of humour and how he always made us laugh although we lost touch i will never forget him and what a wonderful and caring man he was prayers go out to Peggy and his family
