JOHNSON CITY - Betty Kirkpatrick Parker, 93, Johnson City, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023, after an extended illness.
She was born in Washington County and was the daughter of the late Milburn Sr. and Pearl Saylor Kirkpatrick.
She retired from Parks Belk. She was a charter member of Princeton Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Nolichucky Chapter #194. Betty always had a good time wherever she was. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and had been in almost all of the states. Most of all, she was proud of and loved her family.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, N. Wayne Parker; an infant son; two brothers, Milburn Kirkpatrick, Jr. and Eugene E. Kirkpatrick; and one sister, Norma Hale.
Survivors include: one son, Stephen Parker and his wife Pamela Adams Parker, of Kingsport; grandsons, Patrick Adam Parker Shayne Tyler Parker, both of Kingsport; and nieces and nephews.
The family of Betty Parker will receive friends from 12 PM until 1 PM Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 1 PM with Rev. Jason Rodney officiating. The graveside service will immediately follow at Monte Vista Memorial Park. The family will also receive friends and family at Betty's residence from 11 AM until 3 PM on Friday, December 1, 2023 and Sunday, December 3, 2023.
The family would like to thank Betty's church family for their calls, visits and prayers during her illness. Also, thank you to the staff and caregivers of Amedisys Healthcare and Hospice Services of Elizabethton for the faithful and loving care extended to Betty and Stephen during her time in hospice care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children at donate.lovetotherescue.org.
